Elephant Revival - regardless of whatever musical pigeon-hole to which one might consign Elephant Revival the preceding word is doubtlessly "excellent". The Colorado-based 5 piece, with roots in Oklahoma, comprises multi-instrumentalists who each  contribute to the band's overall sound which borrows freely from whatever genre fits the piece at hand and with instruments including djembe, washboard, and musical saw, in addition to electric banjo, guitar, mandolin, viola, double-bass and fiddle that range is prolific. The term "transcendental folk" has been applied which supposedly includes elements of Celtic fiddle tunes and ballads, original folk pieces,  indie rock, bluegrass, psychedelic country and so on - none of which capture the clever contemporary songwriting at the heart of the band, their amazing vocal arrangements or the hypnotic quality of Bonnie Paine's purring vocals!;

Arlon Bennett - gentle-voiced NYC singer-songwriter with the extrospective approach of an old-fashioned newspaper reporter who documents all that can be seen and allows the reader/listener to draw their own conclusions. Topics include songs of encouragement, imminent birth, the joys of music, an Italian immigrant with a solid set of priorities and all wrapped up with excellent instrumental execution and harmony vocals including an appearance by the Boxcar Lilies;

Paul Simon - 5 decades of lustrous music ... what more needs to be said? :-)

Kate Campbell - superlative singer/songwriter who documents the South with an artistry that has drawn  repeated comparisons to the standard-bearers of the Southern writing tradition such as Flannery O'Connor, Eudora Welty and William Faulkner - making a welcomed return to Little Rock and her debut with Little Rock Folk Club on Sat Nov 23rd 2013;

Nilsson - immensely talented Grammy winning singer-songwriter who rarely toured now memorialised in a 17 cd box set from RCA featuring his 14 official RCA releases plus 3 cds containing a further 58 tracks of which 29 are previously unreleased;

Brian Miller & Randy Gosa - Northern Minnesota native Brian Miller (Bua) and Wisconsinite Randy Gossa (Myserk) bring to life the Irish-influenced music of singers and fiddlers who roamed the Great Lakes region in the days when pine was king in this beautifully recorded album with informative booklet crammed with archive photographs of the workers and fiddlers. Replete with songs and tunes on guitar, mandola, tenor banjo, Greek bouzouki, harmonium and shruti box, guest fiddle from AJ Srubas (Eddie Biebel & AJ Srubas) and guest vocal from Norah Rendell (The Outside Track) on the final track, this is an album to be savored  Produced thanks to an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board funded by a voter initiative from the people of Minnesota - now, there's taxes well spent!
