Jez Lowe “has built an enviable
reputation as a songwriter and performer in the world of acoustic music,
and as a recognised musical ambassador for his
native North East England, with almost twenty albums and countless live
performances around the world over the last thirty years. Among those who
have recorded their own versions of Lowe’s songs, are Fairport
Convention, The Unthanks, The Dubliners, The Tannahill
Weavers, Cherish The Ladies, Gordon Bok, Tom McConville,
The McCalmans, The Black Brothers, Liam Clancy,
Bob Fox and literally hundreds of others. Songs like BACK IN DURHAM GAOL,
THE BERGEN, GREEK LIGHTNING and THESE COAL TOWN DAYS have generated scores
of cover versions around the globe, and are now classics of their kind.” Artist’s website
“In 2008 piano player Gareth Kiddier was
asked to put together a pit band for the Saturday night concert at a
musicians’ weekend. He went for the glamour angle and asked five of
the most talented and female traditional dance musicians to join him. The
result was so much fun that they now play for English dances as PolkaWorks. As they are scattered across the UK from
Wales to East Anglia and all busy people, the opportunities to play together
are always special occasions! Between them, these musicians have played in
many of the most significant English ceilidh
bands over the last forty years, influencing the shape and sound of
traditional English dance music in the twenty first century.” Artist’s website
Cassie and Maggie MacDonald “encompass everything you could ask
for in a musical act, their talent is only surpassed by the joy with which
they so generously share it. Exciting and innovative, they have found the
perfect balance between musical integrity, and sheer entertainment. While
still staying true to their Celtic roots, they have explored and tested the
boundaries of traditional music, bringing a breath of fresh air to the
genre with their original compositions and arrangements. Sisters, cohorts
and collaborators, Cassie and Maggie have been enchanting audiences far and
wide with their infectious energy, driving rhythms and lilting melodies. Born
to a family with a rich musical heritage and raised in Nova Scotia, a
province steeped in musical culture and traditions, the girls have used
their unique up bringing as a springboard for their own brand of Celtic
Roots music. Equally at home playing tunes passed down through generations
of musicians, as seamlessly weaving themes from the Moonlight Sonata into
sets of sure fire reels, Cassie and Maggie are turning heads wherever they
go. And the music community has taken note; Galaxie
Radio Rising Star award winners, Canadian Folk Music Award nominees for
“Young Performers of the Year”, East Coast Music Award nominees
for Traditional Album and double Music Nova Scotia Award nominees for New
Artist and Roots Album of the year, their accolades and awards speak of a
young duo that will surely continue to do great things… “ Artist’s

Caroline Cotter - 5th release from Portland, Maine-based
singer/songwriter who plays guitar and banjo... on this release she reworks
some previously released material along with new pieces.
Moonrakers - "an Oxford-based group
of four musicians, some from the classical and some from the folk
tradition. Instrumentally, the group is sufficiently diverse to create
different sound textures for each piece. The fact that the band "just
OOZES quality" (Living Tradition) is down to the careful arrangements
and selection of tunes and songs, presenting “exquisite music”
(BBC). The choice of material is largely from the Irish, Scottish, Welsh
and English traditions, reflecting a love of traditional tunes and
contemporary songs 'in the idiom'. Jon Bennett composes several of the
tunes and songs, but the arrangements are down to the special talents of
the group members. He explains: "We weave a tapestry of sound around
the tunes and songs both old and new, giving them an entirely fresh appraisal
- and our audiences love it!"

beginning in 1993 and the 2006 NMC release of Private Peaceful - a
music/literary collaboration with author Michael Morpurgo
(War Horse) recorded live at the Ilkley
Literature Festival in W.Yorkshire. Pure quality…
Chris While & Julie Matthews - simply fabulous multi
instrumentalists, songwriters and vocalists who should be household names
