LR Irish Music Sessions (ACMS)

Fri Sept 7th: Sarah McQuaid - an evening of exquisite singing and virtuoso DADGAD guitar from the author of the hugely successful The Irish DADGAD Guitar Book (Ossian Publications) who is both song crafter and song collector and equally at home with traditional Irish and Appalachian songs, Elizabethan ballads and 1930s jazz! Yes, she is that good! :-) Born in Madrid, raised in Chicago, longtime resident of Ireland, and now resident in Arthurian Cornwall please help us welcome Sarah to our fair city.

Sat Oct 6th: Still On The Hill - an evening of Ozark magic where you will learn things about our great state of Arkansas that you never knew as SotH present their Ozark Journey musical presentation which was the subject of a documentary film that was featured earlier this year on AETN and in the documentary portion of this year's Batesville Film Festival. Cherish the old days... enjoy the present!

Sat Nov 3rd: Sara Grey & Kieron Means - long-time UK resident, where she is regarded as a US national treasure, Sara will present an evening of traditional music picking the choicest songs and tunes from the traditions of both sides of the Atlantic and presenting them with the care and attention one gives to a much loved friend so  long a part of her life that they reverberate in her very DNA! Joining Sara will be her son Kieron Means who inherited the family fortune of a superb voice, instrumental mastery  and a love for traditional music including blues.

Sat Dec 1st: 4 Shillings Short - will get you into the Christmas spirit with their presentation of an evening of seasonal music from the distinct regions within the Irish tradition.  Beginning in November, and going through to Christmas and beyond to the New Year, 4SS will present songs and tunes from Aodh's family traditions ... and somewhere along the way you can be sure a sitar will be involved from a duo who put the multi in multi-instrument!

Please mark your calendars, iPads, iPhones, fridge door to-do lists and be sure to join us for these wonderful live music presentations celebrating our traditional music from yesteryear here and now or Add this concert to your Calendar
